Memorable moments of sublime classical music recorded over the years at swiss winter festival Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad.
Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad
Founded in 2001 the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad (www.sommets-musicaux.com) are now considered as one of the leading winter festivals in Europe. The festival takes place every year at the end of January / beginning of February in the area of famous ski resort Gstaad in the Swiss Bernese Oberland.
The festival features three concert venues: The Church of Saanen, with beautiful wooden ceilings and praised acoustics seats 600, and welcomes internationally acclaimed soloists and orchestras such as Grigory Sokolov, Cecila Bartoli, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Vadim Repin, Mischa Maisky, Camerata Bern, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Sinfonia Varsovia, Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz and I Barocchisti, to name just a few. The concerts taking place in the 11th century romanesque Church of Rougemont are dedicated to piano recitals and chamber music. After the Saanen concerts, diner parties with the artists and open to the public are held at the famous Gstaad Palace Hotel (www.palace.ch) and after the Rougemont concerts the public can share a Fondue or Raclette with the artists in the relaxed ambiance of the traditional restaurant "Café du Cerf". Every year the Chapel of Gstaad features a series of eight concerts dedicated to the raising stars of a diffrent instrument. The performers are mentored by a famous teacher or soloist. Past mentors include Mischa Maisky, Xavier de Maistre, Harald Herzl, Claude Starck, Oleg Maisenberg and Dmitri Bashkirov.
The Sommets Musicaux are proud to have the Banque Privéee Edmond de Rothschild as its main partner since the beginning of the festival. Encouraging the future of classical music is important to the event and to its main partner. Therefore every year, one of the young performers of the concert series held in the Gstaad Chapel is awarded the Prix Groupe Edmond de Rothschild which allows him to record his first CD with Orchestra. Past prizewinners include Alexandra Soumm, Berolina Trio, Joseph Moog, Nicolas Altstaedt and Herman Wallén.

She was playing this with so much ellegance!!!So much details ,without russing with every clear note!!!!BRAVO!!!! CONGRATULATION!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hermoso !!!!!!
Hi i don't like this version of Alessandro Marcello Concerto but my "dislike" have nothing to do with the "tempo" that is perfect on all parts.... that's the barocco tempo....
Clare you play like lang
Inolvidable 😮!
Beautiful
Kuru Soğan bayat ekmek yerken mehter dinliyorum ben.

Alessandro Marcello not Benedetto. Benedetto was his brother
Fabulosa i sublim interpretació!! Fantàstic!!
It is told liszt sat slightly on an incline with his head slightly upturned. This together with his almost absent vertical or even diagonal motion in his hands contributed to his mastery. In my view if modern pianists could hear and see liszt it would shake them. It is told liszt did not bang on the keys unlike moderns. Instead he may have used a strong firm downward pull on the keys and in relation to the hand a pull rather than push. So the hand would have to assume a certain position. All these are factors. Even the slightly upturned head. Liszt understood much.
I don't understand all the posturing and pianistic mannerisms of modern times. In the time of liszt through to horowitz these unnecessary gestures did not exist. No one knows how liszt played. No one knows how he looked at the piano. My own rough guess is his hands might have looked like they were glued to the surface area. In other words he never raised his hands much at all but moved from key to key with a strong horizontal motion. This I think is key to the greatness of liszt. It was how he summoned speed and power. Never be another.
Far less colour and variety than horowitz version. One thing I notice on modern times is too much pedal
Alexandro Marcello
Die wunderbare Claire huangci.
Thank you for the piece. Some parts are very beautifully executed. I find that there is excess use of the pedal, which is quite unnecessary for this artist. It just meddles the musical phrase. Personally I also do not like very much the interpretation she gives to the Coda, especially the final part.
Sublime interpretation , brilliant technique and full of passion . I'm sure Chopin would have approved !
Stunning! Tone and tempo are simply sublime. Best version I've EVER heard (minus the bad acoustics).
An amazingly fine performance. Perfect technique, strict observance of tempo and deep musicianship.
Alessandro Marcello, please
Good and well played. And you look smashing and worth listening to ❤️
Competencia a Yuga
Here we go again . The keyboard warriors are here.
this has to be one of the best performances of Danse macabre I’ve heard. bravissimo!
Very famous.......
Brilliant rendition. She exudes energy and charisma. She is approaching Lang Lang in sheer ability.
She is in the conversation with LL for goat.
She is the goat.
Eeee
We can feel full orchestra in this performance!! Needless to say, best performance as this arrangement!
Sloppy rendition and a few memory lapses
I absolutely love your interpretation. Spectacular! Keep it up!

It's so elegant!

Absolument magnifique .
Amazing!
A so wonderfully soul-soothing work...
Recording quality is not on the same high level, alas, as the playing. But what playing!
is the underwear on?
SUBLIMELY
DIVINA....
